Give Kids A Smile Day 2015!

Providing Free Dental Care and Education for Underserved Children

In the spring of 2002, a few community oriented dental professionals with the dedication of a multitude of volunteers and supporters in St. Louis, Missouri launched the first Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) event to provide underserved children with free, comprehensive dental care, including examinations, professional cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, restorations, oral surgery and x-rays. In 2003 the American Dental Association became involved and Give Kids A Smile has since become a national movement. In 2014 over 1,500 facilities opened their doors for participation, 40,000 dentist/orthodontists and staff volunteered nationwide, and over 350,000 children were served by a Give Kids a Smile day event.
